My first podcast

I thought I’d try my hand at podcasting. This is my first attempt. It’s a bit rough (as I’m still learning how to use Audacity) but think of it as an experiment, and let me know what you think:

Audio Flash Fiction

I’ve been experimenting with recording my fiction. Here are two works-in-progress for you:

New Short Story

No flash fiction this week because I’ve been spending my writing time working on a new short story. It’s still early days, but it’s looking good. I don’t want to say too much about it, except to say that it’s a sequel of sorts to Six Lights Off Green Scar.

I’ve also been involved in another exciting project… but I can’t talk about that right now either. Suffice to say that a press release has been written and there should be an announcement before Eastercon

Eastercon Panels

I will be participating in two programme events at this year’s Eastercon. On the Saturday, I will be on the panel for a discussion of “Sex and The Singularity” and on Monday I will be taking part in a flash fiction workshop with the rest of the Friday Flash Fictioneers. If you are attending the convention, why not come along to both? (See the main programme for more details).

The New Rock And Roll

It’s short, in-your-face, and anyone can do it. Each piece is about three minutes long, and fiercely experimental. Not symphonies but nonetheless valid and surprisingly complex in their brief expression… Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I hereby proclaim flash fiction as the new rock and roll.

The Complete Flash Fiction Check List

Guy Hogan has some excellent advice on writing flash fiction (and some great examples) on his blog. Most immediately useful is his Complete Flash Fiction Check List.
