New Book
Over the past 24 hours, I’ve pulled together and submitted a 30,000 word book manuscript. It’s a collection of articles (mainly advice for budding authors), interviews and other pieces of writing, some of which first appeared on this website. It’s rough at the moment and probably needs the attention of an editor, but I’m still proud that I’ve managed to pull it together in such a short time – and I’ll post further developments as they happen.

Sounds interesting. I’ve never been able to get a clear answer on this, and obviously it does depend on font size, margins etc., but how many pages would a 30,000 word book be? I’ve seen 50,000 words quoted as 200 pages, 175 pages etc.
Anyway keep us updated on the progress!
Why did you pull this together so quickly? Was it at the request of an editor/publisher?
Hi Ben – I can never figure that out either. As you say, it depends on font size, etc.
Jarrett – I pulled it together so quickly because I’m supposed to be writing a novel, not messing around with non-fiction.
